They are everywhere – at the interface between consumers and businesses, in government offices, hospitals, the metro, taxis, airplanes, and more. They are the ones who make the processes and systems function, giving you the sense that you are truly valued. They come from the UAE, the Philippines, Ghana, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and beyond. They are the face of the city. The impression you get when interacting with Dubai is shaped not just by tangible factors, but above all by them.

The few days I spent in Dubai were incredibly striking. The astonishing architecture, the roads, the shopping malls, the ongoing constructions, and the beauty of everything left a lasting positive impression. Everywhere I went, the service was beyond expectation, making you feel genuinely valued. I did observed how consumers are treated in every business I did visit. I even created situation where I had to deal with the service people of hospital, pharmacy, ticket counter in metros, real state, etc., and I stood close by as other consumers were being attend everywhere I could observe.
Most of the people who interact with customers in businesses or other organizations are immigrants, mostly from poorer countries. But that doesn’t mean they don’t treat you well — on the contrary, they make a genuine effort to ensure you feel valued. They care about creating that sense of being treated properly.
Dubai is lucky to have this workforce, because these are the faces everyone first encounters. Everywhere I went, the people I met seemed genuinely influenced by the city’s spirit of friendliness. That warmth isn’t limited to tourists—it leaves a positive impression on everyone in Dubai, whether you’re living here or just passing through, no matter your wealth, cultural background, or skin color. It’s a small but powerful part of what makes the city feel welcoming to all.
Only a country whose roots carry a deep understanding of the importance of friendliness in its DNA can truly welcome people from different cultures and inspire them to naturally adopt and practice this behavior in their daily lives—on the streets and while serving customers.
The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed went far beyond creating an impressive modern skyline, cutting-edge transport infrastructure, and the latest technological advancements. He imagined a city that embraces everyone – regardless of wealth, cultural background, or skin color – and fosters an environment where each individual has the opportunity to shape their life, maintain a healthy balance between work and personal well-being, and live with dignity. Today, Dubai stands as a living testament to this visionary spirit.
