Nowadays, booking a flight through an airline’s mobile app and flying to your destination has become a routine experience, with onboard services generally meeting expectations. However, if you’ve never flown with Emirates, you might not realize just how exceptional the experience can be.
In 2024 and 2025, I flew several times to Brazil, Poland, Washington, and New York City with various airlines covering those routes. For many years, I was a loyal member of a European airline’s frequent flyer program and made a point to fly exclusively with them to take advantage of their frequent traveler benefits. However, after experiencing increasingly poor customer service and member support, I made the difficult decision to close my account, despite having accumulated over 20,000 miles. Over time, I came to believe that most airlines flying out of Germany offered only average or subpar service. The airline I had relied on since 1983 had gone since 2021 from acceptable to disappointing, prompting me to look elsewhere.
Emirates exceeded my expectations at every step – from making the reservation online, to checking in via the app, to the seamless boarding process. But what truly stood out was the service onboard. It felt as if I were somenone speciall. As an economy class traveler, I’ve never had such an exceptional experience. It even reminded me of two flights I was fortunate to take to the U.S. with Singapore Airlines, which had left a similar lasting impression.
Emirates truly makes you feel special
From the moment we departed Frankfurt, every part of the journey reflected professionalism and genuine care. At the airport and during check-in, the staff provided services warmly and sincerely. Onboard, they never rushed or bothered passengers unnecessarily; instead, they were attentive, polite, and ready to assist.
The Emirates staff never give the impression that serving passengers is a burden. On the contrary, they are proactive and often anticipate what a passenger might need. And when someone behaves in a way that isn’t entirely appropriate, the crew always addresses it politely and tactfully — a true display of professionalism and grace.
My stay in Dubai showed me that the atmosphere of Emirates – from booking to the flight itself – reflects what Dubai represents: high-quality service combined with modernity, impressive architecture, friendly people, and a vision of a better life. Both Dubai and Emirates seem to genuinely appreciate the effort travelers make to visit the city by providing exceptional service – even to economy class passengers.
During the flight, I spoke with a fellow passenger from India who lives in the UAE and has family in Germany, the UK, and Canada. He travels frequently across Europe and shared his experiences comparing major European airlines with Emirates. His impressions echoed mine: Emirates truly stands out for its quality, professionalism, and authentic hospitality.
I understand that human-provided service can never be perfect, and occasional imperfections are normal. But there is no excuse for treating a customer rudely or insincerely – making them feel that a solution cannot be provided when it clearly can. True professionalism lies in addressing issues honestly, respectfully, and efficiently, regardless of a person’s cultural background, skin color, financial status, nationality, or any other reason.
