ABOUT

AVDEA is an acronym derived from my name: Adalberto Vasconcelos DE Araújo

I am Brazilian and also hold German citizenship. My first profession, which I learned in Brazil, was journalism; later, in Germany, I embarked on a second career in Business Administration.

I have been living in Germany since 1983, where I studied Business Administration and specialized in Information Systems, Marketing, and Transport Policy at the University of Würzburg in Bavaria. Before moving to Germany, I worked in Brazil as a journalist.

After working as an IT Consultant and IT Business Development Manager with globally operating companies such as Demag, SAP, and GE Capital — based in Brazil and in Germany — I founded in Germany my own consulting and training company specializing in IT Business Development.

Teaching and training have always been integral parts of my professional career with large global companies, which is why I engaged as a university lecturer in Germany alongside my independent consulting and business development activities. Between 2002 and 2020, I continually lectured at several German Universities of Applied Sciences — in Darmstadt, Fulda, Worms, and at IBA Darmstadt — teaching in MBA, MSc, Bachelor’s, and pre-Bologna Diploma programs within the faculties of Business Administration and Economics, across a wide range of subjects related to Business Development and Business Information Systems.

In parallel with my professional work, I have taken on numerous additional roles and commitments. For many years, I served as a lay judge at my city’s court and as deputy chair of a working group on migration, diversity, and inclusion for a political party that is part of Germany’s federal governing coalition. I am currently active as a lobbyist in the German Bundestag, advocating for consumer rights and for the establishment of genuine, effective consumer protection for every individual.
